The Festival Management Committee ("FMC") owns and operates the website for the Toronto Caribbean Carnival located at and ("the websites"). and are used interchangeably throughout this agreement. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your privacy and security when you access the website. This privacy policy describes our privacy practices for the websites. By using the website, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any terms or practices described in this Privacy Policy, please do not use the website.


To assist you in reading our Privacy Policy, we have provided answers to the following frequently asked questions:






We do not collect personal information about you (such as your full name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) unless you provide it to us voluntarily. We collect personal information from you through when (1) you sign up for our mailing list, (2) you purchase festival tickets or a festival pass through the website, (3) you send us an e-mail from the website to confirm that we received your film submission or to request information regarding sponsorship opportunities or to request other information, (4) you submit your resume to apply for a position with the Festival staff, (5) you submit a Volunteer Application to volunteer for the Festival, (6) you submit an advertising purchase order or (7) you register on-line as a member for general and contest purposes. If you sign up for our mailing list, we will ask you to give us, at a minimum, your name (first and/or last), e-mail address and perhaps postal/zip code. You may also provide your company name (if applicable), mailing address and telephone and fax numbers. If you purchase tickets or other items on the website, you will need to provide your full name, street address, e-mail address, daytime telephone number and your credit card information. If you volunteer for the Festival, submit your resume to us to apply for a staff position with the Festival or purchase advertising, we will have a record of whatever information you submit in completing the applicable form or that is contained in your resume. If you request information on a submission or other information from the website or if for any other reason you send us an e-mail from the website, we will have a record of your e-mail address and any other personal information you provide to us in the body of the e-mail. If you register as a member of for general purposes, specific areas or for contests and promotions, we will collect your name, e-mail address, telephone number and other information we deem pertinent.



Although does use cookies (see "Does use cookies?" below), we do not collect or retain any non-personally identifiable information about you that we may have access to through our use of cookies. does not use web bugs.



When you view the website, we may store some information on your computer. This information will be in the form of a "cookie" or similar file. Our purpose for gathering personal and non-personal information is to: (1) provide a service or information in response to your request; (2) sell you tickets or passes or other products or services (including advertising) you have requested through the website; (3) consider you for a staff or volunteer position or press accreditation; (4) send you information on the current year's Festival or future Festivals; and (5) send you materials and information about FMC and make you aware of upcoming FMC events in which you may be interested. Use of any of the services on the website is entirely voluntary; however, if you do not provide the personal information we request, we may elect not to make the related features or services available for your use.

We may contract with third parties to assist us in providing services through the website and services at the Festival. We will provide your information to such third parties in order to fulfill your request or transaction. We do not authorize any of these third parties to make any other use of your information. As an example: we have hired a public relations firm that is responsible for handling all matters relating to the press. If you sign up for press accreditation, we will automatically forward your information to this firm to process and respond.

If you sign up for our mailing list or you purchase tickets from the website, we may provide your name, e-mail address and/or mailing address to our marketing or organizational partners so that they can send you news and information on products, services or events in which you may be interested. You may indicate your preference as to whether or not you will allow your information to be used by our Partners and Affiliates to send you information from time to time when signing up for mail. We may provide personal information to appropriate authorities if we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the legal rights or property of

We do not collect, use or retain any personal information from any visitor to our website who we actually know is under the age of 13. We will delete any records of such personal information that come to our attention. If you discover that your child has provided any personal information to the website, we invite you to notify us at [email protected] so that we may delete the information from our records and discontinue any related features or services.



If after providing personal information, you do not wish to receive any materials, offers or correspondence from us (other than communications or materials necessary to complete the transaction or request for which you originally provided your personal information), please send an e-mail to [email protected] and we will promptly remove you from our mailing lists.
